Bullets and Bounty Game Review (2025 slot release)
Introduction to Bullets and Bounty
Bullets and Bounty is the latest Wild West slot from Hacksaw Gaming, and in my opnion the best. I've been spinning it regularly since it dropped in August 2025. As someone who's played most of Hacksaw's western-themed games like Wanted Dead or a Wild and Duel at Dawn, I was excited to see how they'd evolve their signature VS symbol mechanics.
The game features Katherine ‘Quick Draw Kate' O'Callaghan as the main character, and let me tell you – this isn't your typical cheerful cowboy adventure. Hacksaw has created another dark, gritty western landscape that perfectly matches their reputation for intense gaming experiences.

Gameplay and Special Features of Bullets and Bounty
Bullets and Bounty runs on a 5×4 grid with 19 paylines, which feels familiar if you've played other Hacksaw games. The core mechanics revolve around VS symbols and the new Bounty VS symbols, both of which can expand into full-height DuelReels when they're part of winning combinations.
When a regular VS symbol expands, it becomes an Outlaw DuelReel featuring a duel between two characters. The winning duelist determines your multiplier, which can range from x2 all the way up to x100. These multipliers apply to all wins connected to that reel, and if multiple Outlaw DuelReels are part of the same win, the multipliers combine before being applied.
The real innovation here is the Bounty VS symbols. When these expand into Bounty DuelReels, you get a duel between a Bounty Hunter (Kate) and an Outlaw. If Kate wins, she collects the Outlaw's multiplier and adds it to her own, then triggers another duel on the same reel. This can repeat up to 3 times or until Kate loses, building up increasingly bigger multipliers.
Free Spins and Bonus Features
Bullets and Bounty delivers exciting gambling seen through Hacksaw Gaming’s grim, violent lens on the West.
There are three different bonus rounds, each triggered by different numbers of scatter symbols. True Grit (3 scatters) gives you 10 free spins with Progressive Bounty Hunter Multipliers, meaning the latest winning multiplier becomes the starting point for the next Bounty Hunter duel.
Four Shots to Freedom (4 scatters) is where things get really interesting. You get 10 free spins with only Bounty VS symbols appearing, plus a Bullet & Bounty Bar that tracks Kate's wins. Each time she wins a duel, you progress through 4 levels:
- Level 1: +3 spins and a DuelSpin with at least 2 VS symbols
- Level 2: +3 spins and a DuelSpin with at least 3 VS symbols
- Level 3: +3 spins and a DuelSpin with at least 4 VS symbols
- Level 4: +3 spins and a DuelSpin with at least 5 VS symbols
The hidden epic bonus “Go Ahead, Make Her Day” (5 scatters) combines the best of both features – it's like Four Shots to Freedom but starts at level 1 and includes Progressive Bounty Hunter Multipliers.

My Thoughts About The Slot Game
After extensive testing, I can confidently say this game is really fun to play and one of the best games Hacksaw has made. However, the game is a low volatile game, in contrast to most Hacksaw games that are high volatile, so you can expect more often wins but more rarely bigger wins. If you have the option in your country, you can change the volatility by activating one of the buy bonuses where the volatile is from medium to high.
What struck me immediately was how different this feels from typical Hacksaw releases. The 46% hit frequency means you're getting wins regularly, which is refreshing compared to their usual high-volatility grind-fests. The low volatility actually works well with the VS symbol mechanics – you get to see duels happening frequently rather than waiting ages between features.
The Bounty VS symbols are brilliant. Watching Kate win multiple duels in a row and build up massive multipliers creates genuine excitement. I've had sessions where she won 3 duels on the same symbol, turning a modest x2 into something much more substantial. The progressive element in free spins makes this even more powerful.
The Four Shots to Freedom bonus became my favorite feature. Working your way through the 4 levels and earning those guaranteed VS symbol spins feels incredibly rewarding. Level 4 with 5 VS symbols guaranteed is absolutely insane when it hits – the screen just explodes with multipliers.
One thing I appreciate is how the feature buys change the game's personality. The base game's low volatility is perfect for casual sessions, but if you want that classic Hacksaw intensity, the feature buys ramp up the volatility significantly. It's like having two different games in one.
The 20,000x max win potential is impressive, especially considering it's achievable in all game modes. I haven't hit anything close to that personally, but I've seen some screenshots from other players hitting 2,000-3,000x wins during the higher bonus levels.
The western theme execution is top-notch as always from Hacksaw. The dark, gritty atmosphere really comes through in the visuals and audio. Kate is a compelling character, and the duel animations never get old, even after hundreds of spins.
My only minor complaint is that sometimes the low volatility can feel almost too gentle compared to what I'm used to from Hacksaw. There's less of that heart-pounding tension, but that's probably exactly what some players are looking for.
Bottom line: Bullets and Bounty successfully delivers Hacksaw's signature western style with more accessible volatility. The Bounty VS symbols are an excellent evolution of their VS mechanics, and the multiple bonus levels provide great progression. Whether you want casual fun or high-stakes action, this game adapts to your style.
Overall Rating: 9.5/10 – A masterful blend of innovation and accessibility that showcases Hacksaw's versatility.
My overall rating is 9.7 out 10. Will I play again? yes 100%
