Le Cowboy Game Review (Upcoming slot release)
Introduction to Le Cowboy
Here is a new really good slot for all of us Cowboys 🤠 – Le Cowboy is Hacksaw Gaming's latest adventure featuring everyone's favorite raccoon, Smokey, and I've been spinning this Wild West-themed slot non-stop since it dropped in November 2025. After playing through the entire Le series over the years, I was excited to see how Hacksaw would evolve the formula this time.
Smokey's traded his Parisian bowler hat for a Stetson and spurs, bringing his signature gruffness to the dusty plains of the Old West. The game maintains that quirky charm the Le series is known for while introducing a fresh Revolver Reveals mechanic that fits the cowboy theme perfectly.

Gameplay and Special Features of Le Cowboy
Le Cowboy uses a cluster pays system on a 6×5 grid, meaning you need 5 or more connected matching symbols to form wins. When you hit a cluster, the super cascades feature kicks in, removing winning symbols and dropping new ones down to potentially create more wins.
The real innovation here is the Revolver Reveals mechanic. When a wild is part of a winning cluster, it transforms into a Revolver Cylinder loaded with 2-6 shots. After cascades end, these cylinders fire at random positions on the grid, revealing Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, Loot Bags, or Reloads.
The reveal sequence works like this: Coins come in Bronze (1x-4x), Silver (5x-20x), Gold (25x-100x), and Diamonds (150x-500x). When shots hit existing Coins, they upgrade to the next tier. Green Clovers multiply adjacent prizes by x2-x20, while Gold Clovers multiply everything on screen. Loot Bags then collect all revealed values, and the process can repeat if Reload symbols appear to refill the cylinders.
Free Spins and Bonus Features
There are three different bonus rounds triggered by scatter symbols. High Noon Saloon (3 scatters) gives you 10 free spins with increased chances of triggering Revolver Cylinders.
What I really like is you can buy the Trail of Trickery bonus and gamble your way to the epic bonus – out of 10 times I bought it, I won it 2 times, with my highest win being $5,485 on a buy bonus of $750.

Trail of Trickery (4 scatters) also awards 10 free spins but adds the Bullet Collector feature. Every win adds +1 bullet to the collector, and on the final spin, Smokey fires all collected bullets at the grid, revealing more special symbols and triggering another Revolver Reveals sequence.
The hidden epic bonus Pistols at Dawn (5 scatters) is where things get absolutely crazy. It has all the Trail of Trickery mechanics, but the Bullet Collector is progressive – it triggers on EVERY spin, not just the last one. Plus, the minimum Coin type is Silver, so you're guaranteed better values.
Both High Noon Saloon and Trail of Trickery let you gamble instead of playing. The revolver spins to determine outcomes – you might upgrade to the next bonus tier, or you might win an instant cash prize ranging from 1x up to 500x. You can gamble once per bonus trigger, plus once more if you successfully upgrade.

My Thoughts About The Slot Game
After extensive testing of Le Cowboy, I'm genuinely impressed with how Hacksaw has refreshed the Le series formula, and I have no doubt this will become a very popular slot at the casinos. The Revolver Reveals mechanic is a brilliant thematic fit – watching those cylinders spin and fire bullets at the grid creates real tension, especially when you've got multiple cylinders loaded up.
The medium volatility feels perfect for this game. With a 38.7% hit frequency, you're getting regular action in the base game, but the real excitement comes from building up those reveal sequences. When you get multiple Revolver Cylinders firing, upgrading Coins through the tiers, hitting them with Clover multipliers, and then collecting everything with Loot Bags before the whole process repeats – that's when Le Cowboy really shines.
What sets this apart from previous Le slots is the gamble feature. Being able to take a shot at upgrading your bonus adds a whole extra layer of excitement. Sure, you might end up with a cash prize instead, but those prizes aren't bad – I've hit some decent 100x+ wins from failed gambles. And when you DO successfully upgrade from Trail of Trickery to Pistols at Dawn, the feeling is incredible.
The Bullet Collector in Trail of Trickery creates amazing anticipation on that final spin. I've had rounds where I collected 20+ bullets, and watching Smokey unleash all of them at once is genuinely thrilling. The progressive version in Pistols at Dawn that triggers every spin is just insane – the multipliers and collections can snowball into massive wins.
The 25,000x max win potential feels very achievable with this setup. I haven't personally hit anything close to that, but my $5,485 win from a $750 bonus buy (about 7.3x) shows the potential is real. The combination of upgrading Coins, multiplying Clovers, and collecting Loot Bags can create exponential growth when everything aligns.
My only minor criticism is that the base game can feel a bit slow between Revolver Cylinder triggers. But the 38.7% hit frequency keeps things moving, and the Wild West FeatureSpins buy option (75x for guaranteed wilds) is there if you want more consistent action.
The theme execution is top-notch as always from Hacksaw. Smokey's animations are hilarious, and the sound effects when those revolvers fire really add to the atmosphere. It's not as visually dark as some other Hacksaw games, which gives it a more lighthearted, fun vibe.
Bottom line: Le Cowboy successfully evolves the Le series with fresh mechanics that enhance rather than replace what made the original special. The Revolver Reveals system is a perfect thematic fit, the gamble feature adds strategic decisions, and the 25,000x potential is genuinely exciting. While it may not be a complete overhaul, the new features contribute to another punchy, entertaining entry in Smokey's saga.
My overall rating is 9.6 out 10 – A feature-rich sequel that delivers shootout-style thrills while maintaining the Le series charm.
